It has been one week since the highly anticipated Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton took place. The bride and groom, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, said their “I Do’s” in the company of nearly 2000 guests at Westminster Abbey, followed by a more intimate reception at Buckingham Palace.
Ever since William and Kate announced their engagement in November 2010, people everywhere have been wondering what Kate would wear for the big day. The bride looked breathtaking in a V-neck gown with a long-sleeved lace overlay bodice and full skirt, which was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. The dress was perfect for her; the contemporary design mixed with the traditional lace details gave her the ideal wedding look for a young royal in the spotlight. It is not uncommon for brides to change into a different dress for the reception, and the princess did just that. Kate’s reception dress, also designed by Sarah Burton, was a more modern gown with a sweetheart neckline, full skirt, and embellished waistband.
Kate’s dress isn’t the only one that is getting a lot of buzz, her sister, Pippa Middleton, has received a lot of attention as well. Pippa looked beautiful in her ivory fitted cowl-neck maid of honor dress. Pippa opted for color when she changed for the reception into an emerald green V-neck gown with embellished details. Although Kate was definitely the main attraction of the day, many people are talking about her sister Pippa as well.
Of course only a few girls are lucky enough to marry a real prince, but every woman can look and feel like royalty on her big day. Faviana has not only created a Princess Kate bridal gown, but also replicas of both of Pippa’s dresses, as well as a special occasion version of Kate’s gown.
