2012 Met Ball and Its Top Looks

The Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala is a yearly event that is full of fashion trends.  The red carpet is full of actors, actresses, musicians, artists, fashion models, amongst other elite.   The red carpet outside the event is full of glitz and glamor, and trends that will carry over for seasons to come.  Everyone brings their a game to the red carpet in anticipation for what is known as one of the biggest fashion events of the year.

Some of the top trends  from the event were gold and illusion dresses.  Gold was definitely the color of the night.  From Jessica Alba to to Nina Dobrev to Scarlett Johansson gold was popping up everywhere.  Jessica wore a gorgeous one shoulder gold lame dress, and Scarlett Johansson stunned the crowd in her classic dress with crystal embellished sleeves and embroidered bodice.   Her mermaid style dress with tulle skirt was a stunner on the red carpet.

Ginnifer Goodwin wore one of the seasons other top colors, tangerine.   The sheer neckline of her dress was simple, classy and perfect for her.  She is always current with the top trends and definitely made an entrance her custom made chiffon-silk blend dress with a tangerine leather belt.  Tis the season for feathers and Kate Bosworth wowed in a short fringed, feathered cocktail dress.

Sequins and color was another staple at the event.  Lea Michele wowed in her deep v-neck blue sparkler.  She looked magnificent in her dress, as January Jones did in her yellow gown with metallic detailing or Emma Roberts in her custom made marigold colored strapless dress.
