Cannes By Natalie

Hey guys! I’m Natalie, Face of Faviana semi-finalist and I am so happy to have this opportunity as a guest blogger for Faviana! I’ll be writing about some of the best dressed celebrities at the Cannes Film Festival. The Cannes Film Festival is held annually in Cannes, France and is famous for very French couture fashion. Here’s my top five!

5. Emma Watson in Chanel Couture

I think we can all agree that no matter what Emma wears, she always looks stunning. The black and white dress by Chanel is the perfect celebrity style for Cannes. Emma’s chic short hair and sparkling bustier top give the look some edge, while the long white skirt and sweet smile make it very feminine.

4. Jessica Biel in Marchesa

Jessica Biel went for a very girly Marchesa tea-length, evening gown dress. I think the length is beautiful in this formal dress because it allows a little peak of feathers on the interior of the dress. The shoes are a simple nude which pairs perfectly with the crochet type pattern on the dress. Jessica’s simplicity of accessories, shoes, hair and makeup make this formal dress stand out in a beautiful way.

3. Milla Jovovich in Armani

Mila’s gorgeous blue, floor length long evening gown is an Armani formal gown. The style is quite different from a lot of the designs we have been seeing because instead of girly French couture, this dress is very sultry and evening inspired. The semi-plunging neckline paired with the jewels at the top of this dress makes it very glamorous, while the gorgeous blue full skirt makes it dramatic. Mila’s dark makeup makes her Armani celebrity gown perfect for the red carpet.

2. Nicole Kidman in Dior Couture

Nicole Kidman looks amazing in this tea-length Dior dresses. Many Dior dresses created this length are altered to be different lengths, but Nicole kept it in it’s natural beauty. The assortment of beautifully colored floral details paired with the girly silhouette give this short dress a very girly and French feel, perfect for the event. Nicole slicked back her hair, and wore heels with a touch of gold to give the outfit a bit of an edge.

1. Solange Knowles in Stéphane Rolland

Solange opted for this beautiful Stéphane Rolland couture gown with fringe like details along the train. On the runway, the dress was shown as just a leotard with a train, but Solange turned it into a red carpet gown. The leotard is visible under the sheer parts of the dress, making it a very subdued version of sexy. Solange’s dangling earrings, and elegant gold belt make her look perfectly glamorous. Solange Knowles wins best dressed in my mind because of the sheer beauty of her gown.

Overall, Cannes had very diverse, but always beautiful dresses. Thanks to everybody for reading and to Faviana for giving me the opportunity to write about what I love most, fashion!
